Mona Khayat / Design for Digital Media BA(Hons)

My work explores the relationship between a real and a fantasy world, where I delve into a utopia I dream of. With influences such as Jordi Koalitic creative photography and Natacha Einat’s digital artistry, new combinations are generated from both productions and deciphered meanings. Ever since I was a child, I have been inspired by the evolving natural development in which the world is perceived as. What started as a yearning, soon became an image I capture in my photography and photo manipulation. This critical practice clarified the boundless possibilities of macro shots in continuous shooting to illustrate my interpretations in one single image. As sensitive forms are illustrated and refined, the viewer is left with a certainty to the connotation bounded by the two worlds as lived and imagined, merging the universality of myth and emotional memories.
