Marcus Douglas / Illustration BA(Hons)

As an illustrator, I specialise in creating surrealist art using a range of materials and techniques by hand before manipulating them digitally. I am inspired by the work of H.R. Giger, particularly around the human anatomy and its aesthetic parallels with man-made objects mad machines. Much of my art is influenced by my lived reality as an LGBTQ+ person, with a focus on queer art and exploration of identity. My recent work explores themes around the structures found in modern industrial cities and the emotional and psychological effects these have on people.
