Remnants
The project centres around my personal childhood memories growing up in a ruinous barn on a Pyrenees mountainside, the decade they occurred and the specific places they transpired and how these memories we hold so dear become fragmented and eroded over time. These memories started to pervade my work in unexpected ways, these memories are held and triggered in very specific locations, revisiting these special locations I began scanning natural objects from these key places from my past. Much like the memories these scans weren’t a perfect representation, the scans became a memory of the object. Contorting these scans on a digital canvas much like my memories until they became a physical interpretation of my distorted childhood recollections.
