Georgia Scannelli / Textiles Design with Business Studies BA(Hons)

This project was inspired by still life compositions of ceramic vessels, specifically drawing inspiration from Giorgio Morandi’s paintings of humble objects. A focus was placed on certain qualities belonging to these paintings, such as balance, tranquillity and harmonious colour, and translated to fabric design. For me, this prompted a minimalist direction, conveying the subject matter using gestural marks and simplified silhouettes. The collection is a starting point in which I aim to further develop through continuing with illustration and surface design for interior and fashion fabrics.
