Producer and creative director. This project, 2130, is a crossover with fashion and games design.
I was inspired to create compelling female video game characters who live 110 years in the future, in the year 2130, after the COVID-19 outbreak. Women whose society had learned and changed for the better based on our current situation, in 2020.
This project also explores topics of sustainability, the lack of funding for the NHS, and the education system in the UK. I wanted a way to discuss these topics in a more indirect, unemotional way. Talking about current world issues, such as the ones presented in 2130, in a more emotional, obvious way can unintentionally close off that discussion. It is a reminder of the negative aspects of our society and our actions. By placing these issues in a video game makes them less confrontational and will, hopefully, open up that conversation and inspire change.
