Simulation. The consciousness of pretending.
Painted faces, costumed in stockings and the cinema screen’s break the fourth wall, The Rocky Horror Picture Show since 1975 has been attended by its loyal, growing fans and has kept up its ongoing cult tradition. Richard O’Brien, the creator, provides his simulation through his text becoming a therapy for fans to recycle and enable an authenticity to him.
For my dissertation, I decided to produce a video essay with elements from my independent documentary about this case study.
