Owen Williams / Fine Art Critical Practice BA(Hons)

My work broadly addresses the subject of the self, specifically the anxious self and the voyeuristic self. It varies from film to installation, to performance to camera. More recently my work has moved online and evolved into 3D visual art. The relationship between the artist, the art and the audience is what is important in my work.

My practice is informed by aspects of time such as duration, through my reading of Henri Bergson and “Chronophobia” – time experienced as uneasy. My work is autobiographical, belonging to net.art due to its place on the internet and takes influence from artists such as Molly Soda and Tehching Hsieh.

My aim is to create a greater understanding of myself through my artwork and present this to an audience.
