‘It has been a huge pleasure to work with this last group of MMBJ graduates, made bitter sweet by it being the end of our course for now.
I have watched this group grow and develop in confidence and voice and it is wonderful to see the work they have produced this final year, in spite of all the challenges of COVID and the Lockdown.
Particularly my documentary makers who have undertaken “bedroom investigations” to complete their work, finding new ways of interviewing contributors and learning new softwares to adapt to this new working space.
I fervently hope MMBJ will return in some shape or form. As a BJTC accredited course it sets a standard and gives future employers that reassurance of training and quality.
In these changing times there has never been more need for objective journalists, shining light into dark corners and speaking truth to power.
I wish my students the very best in all they do.”
