Christy Thynne / Illustration BA(Hons)

My work is introspective. I try to produce relatable content based on a desire to discover a better understanding of the human condition – what makes us tick and what we all struggle with. I choose to display these gentle, emotional sentiments with bold and graphic outcomes, aiming to simplify the complexity of – and poke fun at – the notion of existing as an emotional being. I use bright and strong colour palettes, often utilising a repetition of significant words and motifs. And keeping several consistent threads of thought active throughout my practice, where sometimes they come together and form a project.
