As a designer I choose to focus on projects which I think could make a difference in people’s lives. I like to engage and educate with my designs. For my final project I chose to challenge the controversial tradition of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The intention of the campaign is to empower girls and women, to show support and to give the effected individuals a voice. I designed a symbol using the female gender sign – cutting it up and putting it back together roughly, to reflect the FGM procedure.
